Hi MUFaddicts!

I heard from Hazard this afternoon, they are in Washington, DC! They caught the Amtrak from Harpers Ferry into DC and road the Metro into Downtown, which is where he called me from! They made it, yay! Apparently there is going to be a free concert, fireworks and of course tons and tons of people lining the streets… He sounded excited to be in DC, and they’re looking forward to a bit of site seeing and celebrations later this evening. However, they first have to go shopping for a digital camera since Hazard’s cell phone has become damaged and can no longer hold a charge… Definitely a priority since we must have photos! I am so happy that they made it to DC in time for the ‘fourth’, it should be amazing for them!

Also, in honor of their ‘psychological’ half way mark I made a new custom header for the blog! I always meant to make one, I was just waiting for the right photo to appear. In the last batch of photos I found my ‘money shot’ and got creative.

When I spoke to Hazard today, we tossed around the idea of maybe creating and offering for sale a MUFaddict’s t-shirt to show your support for the guys and also generate a little monetary support for the second half of their trek. I would love to have feedback on this idea from everyone before we proceed further with this project. I have been toying around with a design just in case we decide to do this for real… (click on the link in the sidebar)

This is merely a prototype based on ideas that we threw around. It’s not, by any means, the final design. So, let us know what you think of this idea in general, and the design in particular. If this plan comes to fruition, we will probably offer the t-shirts for sale online through a second party “dotcom”. Proceeds would go to help the guys out on completing their trek and any left over funds (or a percentage of the funds) would be donated to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. As I said this is just an idea, but we think it might be a fun and helpful way to show our support for the guys on their trek.

More on this later, enjoy your fireworks!

Regards,

K
